Our Story

Mini Mim is a SWISS and CAPE TOWN based brand and is a family business with Marian (the Artist Granny) and Sandra (the Creative Mom).

It all started in Cape Town, with Marian painting thousands of illustrations during lockdown and filing them carefully away, not knowing if they’d ever find their way out of their little box homes.

Sandra, who is Swiss and mother of a little girl :

When Marian (my mom in law) showed me her collection of designs, I was fascinated by their originality and the endless variety of colourful prints. I started thinking about how we could create limited and inspirational ranges for children, that bring happiness and joy into homes, and use our local artisans to make beautiful products.

Mini Mim was then born in October 2021.

Our vision is to usher in a new era of design for kids that celebrates imagination and creativity.

We do so by using our exclusively hand-illustrated prints on every product we design and select high-quality fabrics to make sure every item is robust and long-lasting.

Our collections are limited and we deliberately go slowly and launch one product at a time. In this way we stay closely connected to the people who are part of the process and guarantee environmentally friendly production.

Our goal is to re-establish long lost Cape Town skills and re-invigorate local talent in order to support them and their crafts.

Every item is carefully made, with the hope that it brings happiness to children who receive it and joy to those who gift it.

We have recently opened new branches in SWITZERLAND and LONDON to be closer to our new and extended family of customers.
